Hey, I don’t want to be a pain, but the night shots (Back to the Future Part II) is a set. Look closely behind Marty with the walkie-talkie. You can see the end of the stage, and the beginning of the backdrop. The road “going off to the horizon” is a painting behind Michael J Fox.

Follow-up: this is the same person who left the reply about the night shots of Lyon Estates (BTTF Pt. II) being a set; I left my email if you want to email me. I can send pics of my Official Back to the Future Trilogy book (Bob Gale was involved in making this book) and it talks about that there. Thanks.

Sorry to be a pain, but the night shots (Back to the Future Part II) are a set. These scenes were not filmed on location. Where Michael J Fox is holding the walkie talkie, if you look behind him, you can see where the stage ends and the backdrop begins. The “Road going off into the distance” background is a painting. LYON ESTATES in part 2 was recreated on a sound stage and not shot on the location of the first film.
